The chocolate business is one of the largest food industries in the world - it is also one that continually exploits the workers who commit their lives to growing cacao. Mochintin Chocolate Company was founded in 2004 with the mission to make a difference. Not only are their products organic and fair trade, but 50% of their sales are donated directly to farmers in the Tabasco region of Mexico who would normally struggle to make a sustainable income. Mochintin translates to "all of us" in the ancient Aztec language of Nahuatl, symbolizing the company's vision of unity and connection.
I sought to create an identity that would give visual form to this company's unique story. The result is a strong brand that alludes to the rich ancient history of Mesoamerica while simultaneously reflecting a paradigm shift in the modern industry of chocolate production
